“Knit” to know me

I’ve been an avid knitter for more than a decade; however, I rarely ventured beyond the garter stitch in various squares and rectangles until this past year.

Like many, the COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc on my mental wellbeing. It got to the point where I needed to resign from my job. I had developed such an attachment between my identity and my career that I was beginning to unravel.

In the six months it took me to find a new job, I worked on developing a new sense of self. I went from “Person in Comms Industry” to “Person Who Knits.” I’ve knitted every single day since May 2020 and while my fingers sometimes hate me for it (stretch, y’all) I am learning new things with each project.

This blog is a marriage of my two passions, storytelling and knitting, while also serving as a living documentation of my progress in the fibre arts.

So come along with me on this journey. We can get going soon, after this row.
